THE ROLE

The production manager is the anchor of the production team. 

The Production Manager will manage the production team to ensure that work is done to a high standard and is completed on time. 

Quality control and deadline management are major components of this role.

Production Managers have a high level of accounting and tax knowledge as well as strong attention to detail. 

This role provides support to the rest of the team with all things technical.  The Production Manager also analyzes the internal profitability of the production team and capacity to take on work. 

Feedback is provided to ensure that the team is busy and profitable, but not overwhelmed with work.

Salary - Base salary range $91,000 - $115,000. Starting salary will be based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the Production Team - Meeting with the members of the production team each week, answering questions and generally providing support.

Support the Client Managers - Use your strong technical knowledge to support the client managers by answering questions and delegating client requests to the production team.

Ensure Quality of Work - Reviewing client work within the context of accuracy and quality control.

Ensure Deadlines are Met - Using our task management software to track deadlines and supervise the production team to ensure that work is completed on-time.

Track Profitability of Client Engagements - Review revenue by job and related job costs to ensure that our client engagements are profitable.

Continuously Improve Processes - We’re always on the lookout for better ways to do things. Design and implement process improvements for client work and internally.

Operations Meetings - Run the weekly operations meeting with your production team. This is where deadlines are discussed and work progress is tracked.

Capacity Management - Track team capacity and workload to ensure that the team stays fully utilized but not overwhelmed. We like when there are things to do, but we’re not looking to work overtime.

YOU

Experienced - Minimum three years of public practice experience within a management or supervisory role.

Knowledgeable - Strong understanding of accounting and Canadian tax regulations and processes.

Designated - Have your CPA designation.

Tech Savvy - Are tech savvy and interested in learning and researching the latest apps. We always want to know if there is a better way to do things.

Positive - Bring a positive mental attitude to all you do.

Organized - Are organized and not afraid of a challenge.

Communicative - Are comfortable communicating with clients over email and video chat.

Independent - Are open to flexible working - we need you to be available, but we won’t schedule you.

Skilled - Accounting software experience, skills and certifications are definitely helpful.
