About the Role

We’re hiring an experienced cloud bookkeeper to step in during a parental leave (around nine months). The work is steady, the clients are established, and if it ends up being the right fit for both of us, there’s a strong chance of staying on permanently.

If you’ve run your own client portfolio before, have public practice or cloud-firm experience, and are comfortable handling sales tax filings, you’ll be able to hit the ground running.

💰 Pay: $26–$30/hour

🌴 Vacation: 8% vacation pay added to each pay period (equivalent to 4 weeks per year)

🤒 Sick Days: 5 paid

🌎 Location: Remote, anywhere in Canada.

What We’re Looking For

Here’s the simplest way to put it: we’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing clean, dependable work, even on the messy days.

More specifically:

  • 2+ years managing your own client portfolio in a cloud bookkeeping or accounting firm.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients without losing your mind (or your cool).
  • Experience with GST/HST/PST filings and government remittances
  • Comfort using Xero and Dext (or something similar)
  • Clear, thoughtful communication (written and verbal).
  • A genuine respect for accuracy, clarity, and good processes
  • Bonus: experience with e-commerce and reporting
  • Bonus: strong Google Docs + spreadsheet skills

What You’ll Do

  • Handling weekly, monthly, and quarterly bookkeeping for your own set of clients
  • Keeping books clean and current in Xero and Dext
  • Managing accounts payable and tracking cash flow
  • Filing sales taxes and completing other remittances
  • Preparing financial reports that help clients make smarter decisions
  • Working with our accounting team to make year-end smooth and predictable
